Float like a butterfly...

...sting like a bee.

I'm well aware I have a long road ahead, but I refuse to let my mind believe there isn't an end to the road. I know life is about the journey, not the destination, but I'm determined to find something that works, and if that means trying 50 things that fail miserably, then so be it. You can not succeed if you do not fail.  But don't get me wrong, I don't by any means believe there is a miracle cure sitting around here somewhere, at least not one that would ever be endorsed. One doesn't get psoriasis over the course of a day, so one can't possibly assume there is a cure that would work in a days time, either. I do think there are cures for many things that are still considered "un-curable" by today's medical society, but only because the medical profession itself is so money-hungry, they would never let a cure to something like Diabetes get out... do you know how much money doctors EVERYWHERE would lose if such a cure was found? Billions at least. I don't think I will ever hear of a cure for something like psoriasis on television or in an ad, because well, it's just not gonna happen that way. I'm betting if there is a really good METHOD of keeping of psoriasis at bay, someone with it will discover it, most likely by accident, and when they do, they won't be SELLING it I'm sure!! They will be telling everyone they can, and it'll spread by wildfire... hopefully lol. Hey I'm a dreamer. My mom and dad have seemingly worked every day of their lives since I was a kid, and my dad even retired from Delta Airlines, THEN went and got ANOTHER job at Alaska Airlines. Even as a teenager I vowed never to be one of those people who worked every day of their life just to get by. And in the same aspect I vow to myself not to allow myself to suffer from something like psoriasis for 40 years... at least not uncomfortably. I will find something that works, and when I do it will be the first free thing any psoriasis sufferer ever got.

Don't like the drugs, but the drugs like meeeeeee

NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM sike

When I was about 9 or so I was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder (not to be confused with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder) (More info here.) Anyways, I take methylphenadate for it, and it gets me pretty focused. Mix that focus with the fact that I'm a textbook Virgo, who is constantly striving for perfection in things, and there I am 4 hours later with a half-dozen different psoriasis medications/ lotions on. I'm far to impatient to sit and try one thing out at a time then report results lol. So sadly I can't put a finger on why my psoriasis looks fairly decent today compared to the last week. I'm still taking the Fu-fang-Qing-dai-Wan orally when I remember to. They ebay person I bought it from in china says to take at least 3 boxes (36 packets) in a month to see good results. Then to be sure I asked two others, one of which tried to sell me 6 and give me the 7th free, and the other one said I would need 5 boxes at least to see any difference. Well that's awesome.... I guess either way having taken it will at least help somewhat, even if I haven't bought 7 freaking boxes. Man 7 boxes a month?? I am not going to chug 3 packets of herbs a day for 40 days. Not only is it inconvenient, it ain't easy on my pocket, so I might have to abandon the Fu Fang Qing Dai Wan after I finish what I've got of it, unless I literally see some improvement. I've started taking a Centrum Multivitamin. I've heard that vitamins are just expensive pee, but some are probably better than none, right? I use lots of different lotions (whatever is closest when I'm feelin' dry, I have a lotion in every room/car/backpack I own lol.) I also decided to put some Neem on all my patches today, and poured some Indigo Naturalis into my body wash bottle. It turned the whole thing a midnight blue color, but it actually mixed quite nicely, much nicer than the Neem did when I did it with the last bottle. The Neem made it all chunky and it didn't spud as well when I put it on the lufa, but the indigo didn't change the consistency at all it seems. I'll keep using it until the bottle runs out, and see if it makes any difference. I also just bought a whole bunch of Vitamin D on Ebay, and plan on taking about 1000-2000IU a day, because I'm a pretty big guy. I'll do that for about a week and see if I notice any differences in how I look and feel. I found this pretty good page that talks about how much IU of vitamin D you should probably take if any of you are thinking about taking vitamin D, because I read it helped a lot of psoriasis sufferers. (I don't have the money for a blood test, so I'm just gonna keep experimenting like I have been lol)

No pain no gain!

Well, taking into consideration the fact that obesity is a HUGE factor in psoriasis, (understandably, I think) I've decided to clear out the basement and get the gym back up to par. I got this book at a garage sale for .50 cents! It's called Men's Health Home Workout Bible and I've been reading a couple pages before bed the past couple nights. I recently found out my parents are willing to pay for college! (YESSSSSSS!) so I've decided to move back home. (well, stay moved back home anyways) I moved back home about 2 months ago, but everything I owned was in the garage, so once I paid off my credit cards (which I've successfully done now tyvm!) then I would get another place and be gone within days. It was by no means a permanent thing (living at home) but now that I'm going back to college, and my folks are letting me stay while I'm attending, I've decided to get a little more comfortable... heh.. might be getting a little TOO comfortable :)

lol my muscle-creation-station!

If I wasn't such an alcoholic, this would be much more simple...

My skin is gonna hate me tomorrow...

So technically I should have been done with the Fu Fang Qing Dai Wan, but nooooo I had to go float the river like 5 times and get wasted and go to the bar and have chugging contests and shotgun beers and be a total asshole to my body instead. heh heh, well I finally got the other 2 boxes (24 packets total) and I want to really finish this stuff, but I'm going to a wedding this weekend and I know I'm gonna get totally plastered because the girl getting married is my old best friend girl next door Rachel. I've also been slacking with the Neem and the Indigo Naturalis. BUT I do like the neem and think it is really good with removing the scales, but honestly, the sunlight from floating the river those few days seems to have done more help than anything I'm trying right now. It's kind of hard to get defined results from anything when your doing like 5 different things at once. (check previous posts to find out whats going on)

So I've still got about 3.9 ounces of Neem and same for the Indigo Naturalis, and I gotta find a way to blaze through this stuff because I hate wasting anything so I think I'm just gonna put it in everything, my shampoo, my soap, friggin' everything.

Somethin' else I just read about! Ok so in case any of you wanna know, I also have a TWITTER (http://twitter.com/Psoriasistance) about this blog, where I tweet about different things I hear about, I also follow a lot of people who tweet about psoriasis. I'm kind of surprised, I actually hear about a lot of good stuff by just following anyone who tweets about psoriasis.
Click here to read about it...

This person (I forget who it was now, sorry!) tweeted about making a red clove and lavender healing salve by infusing both of them in olive oil (or they suggest apricot kernel oil) and mixing with beeswax so it's easier to apply. I think I'm gonna try this out when I get a chance. Both of those things grow naturally around where I live. (Pacific Northwest) If I get around to harvesting the stuff and actually doing it (I really hope I do) I'll take photos and let you all know how it turns out.

I ALSO FOUND THIS PAGE which I fully plan on coming back to soon to do some more research, so I'll just put it here for anyone else who wants to check it out: http://hubpages.com/hub/Psoriasis-Herbal-Remedies

Stress? What stress?

So I went floating the river yet again yesterday and my wallet fall out of my truck. I realized this about 15 minutes after it happened, and by the time I got back to my parking spot, there it was, sitting there empty. Now, not too many things can make me mad. I've been fired from jobs, rear-ended, rear-ended other people on the freeway... stepped on a nail that went all the way through my foot... etc. But nothing makes me angry like getting something stolen from me. I was literally livid!! I was so angry I ran barefoot through bark and gravel the quarter mile from the parking spot to the river where everyone was drinking and talked to every separate group I found. It had to have been someone who JUST left, or JUST got there. Well long story short, I got over it and my cards all got canceled in time, so essentially all that I lost was the $65 in cash that was in it. Eh whatever, that can be replaced, but getting something taken from you sure is stressful, and psoriasis sure loves stress. Since I'm already over it, I'm thinking there wasn't too much of an impact on my psoriasis, but I just can't help but think that I could have gone and bought some new psoriasis medication with that money! Like maybe Champori or something, I've been hearing that works pretty well.

Some thoughts n' Ideas

So I started re-reading John Pagano's Healing Psoriasis: The natural Alternative. This is seriously a great book for fellow P sufferers. I highly suggest you get it if your like me and don't have health insurance, and have to live in this skin. It's got tons of before and after color photos as well as a ridiculously awesome explanation about where psoriasis ACTUALLY comes from. In case you still don't know out there, psoriasis isn't really a skin problem it's a side effect of intestinal problem known as leaky-gut syndrome. In this book he give suggestions on how to heal your leaky gut, like drinking Chamomile tea and other things.
Healing Psoriasis: The Natural Alternative
Wikipedia:
"Leaky gut is a name used to describe intestinal or bowel hyperpermeability. Tight junctions (TJs) represent the major barrier within the pathway between intestinal epithelial cells that line the digestion tract. Disruption of TJs leads to intestinal hyperpermeability (the so-called "leaky gut") which has been proposed by some researchers to involve a relationship with acute and chronic diseases such as systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), inflammatory bowel disease, type-1 diabetes, allergies, asthma, and autism."
Anyways, speaking of the tea, I started drinking it again (it's super cheap you can get it everywhere and I found some at this really cheap food store for .80 cents a BOX!! I bought like 10 of em lol I'm never gonna run out. So I dug em back out of the tea box we got here at my folks house and there was this other tea in there, I've seen it in there for literally almost 10 years. it's like this red bark. Well after all these years I finally let my curiousity get the better of me and I looked up what it was called, it's called Red Lapacho Tea. Well well well! Turns out this South American herb thats been sitting in our cupboard for the past 10 years is actually known to help with PSORIASIS! Ha! I was blown away! So I'm gonna try some tomorrow (I'm all tea'd out today. Never was much of a tea guy, but I've learned to enjoy a lot of different things thanks to this shitty skin disorder. (oh crazy, lol Chamomile is the national flower of Russia haha)
If your interested in getting some I found it here: http://www.nbtea.co.uk/acatalog/South_American_Herbs.html

Tattoos-shmatoos

Well in the end of 2008 I got 2 bigass tattoos on both my arms, then proceeded to get totally drunk and float the river for like a week strait, which is pretty much the dumbest thing you can do with a fresh tattoo is float the river and let it get lots of sunlight etc. Well long story short I now have psoriasis on both my arms. Boo-hoo :(

As my last post stated I started trying out this weird mixture of neem powder and Indigo Naturalis mixed with DMSO and put a little of each to each arm. This post is to kind of show you how I did that.

Oh P.S. I'm not retarded and have my lefts and rights wrong, all of these pics were taken in mirrors haha

Heres my left arm shortly after it was done, before it got psoriasis..

And the right arm shortly after it was done, before P..
My left arm as it looks right now (8-10-2010)
my right arm as it is now (8-10-2010)
My left arm with the Indigo Naturalis mixture on it
My right arm with Neem mixture on it.
So after applying both, I'd probably say the arm with the Neem on it started to really itch as it started to dry. Well they both really started to itch when they were drying I must say they both looked pretty good after I washed them off a half hour later. I've done this for 3 days now (wake up put the stuff on, fart around on the computer for about an hour or so then hop in the shower and wash them off) I forgot to take a picture of them after the treatment to take a pic for update so I'll try to remember to do that tomorrow and post some update pics. Not sure if its doing anything substantial yet but it does feel and look a little bit better. Like just how P looks when all the scales are gone and the fresh new skin is showing. But we all know that sweet stage only happens about once every 4-5 days. I'll try to update tomorrow..

Things I'm trying out, Neem powder and Indigo Naturalis powder

I'm just gonna post some pictures of a few things I will be trying in the next few months...

Fu Fang Qing Dai Wan

I don't even remember where I heard about this stuff, I think I was just googling psoriasis treatments or something (I'm constantly researching over and over /reading articles randomly for new clues) I actually got a box of this in the mail yesterday and started taking it. It doesn't really taste like anything, well kinda just a little gritty like herbs... the lady I bought them from on Ebay told me to eat 3 packets a day er well drink 3 packets a day just drink them down with water. It's kinda hard but I'll get used to it. I ate 3 packets then decided to go to a birthday party out in Seattle and drank some liquor (I know, I'm terrible!) so I'm gonna wait a day or to to pick it back up and do it right. I bought 3 boxes, (12 packets each) so essencially I have enough for 12 days worth if I'm totally loyal to it and dont skip etc, and the lady said I'd need AT LEAST 3 boxes, I will try to take em all faithfully starting in a few days to see how if it works and if it does, see if 12 days worth is worth the like 22 bucks it cost to buy all 3 boxes.

Oh yeah thats right, now I remember how I came across that Fu-Fang. I typed Psoriasis in Yahoo answers and started just reading away and I heard of a lot of people who were using Champori to get rid of their psoriasis, but i didn't feel like spending like 66 bucks on a 4 oz thing of it so I was looking at the ingredients of Champori and I guess the main ingredient is Indigo naturalis which is a Chinese herb which is also known as Qing dai. according to http://indigonaturalis.com/  so I decided to google that and see what I could learn about it and thats when I stumbled upon this:
http://eastearthtrade.com/indigonaturalisqingdai4ozpowder.aspx

I just decided to up and buy it (4 oz for about 23 bucks) because I got into a little bit of a self-medicating spree. While looking at that I ran across Neem powder. (Also on the same site, so I also bought 4 oz of that for about 6 bucks shipped) They got to my house in about 4 days.. not bad!
http://eastearthtrade.com/neem-4ozpowder.aspx

Now, although that vid doesn't really say anything about psoriasis victims, It came up right next to the indigo naturalis on the east Earth Trade site as a potential item for psoriasis. It's not directly for psoriasis but it does say it's very impressive for acne and other skin problems, and this site (http://www.neemgenie.co.uk/psoriasis.html) does say a lot about it working for psoriasis. I did some research into how I could maybe use all this powder I'll be getting and some sources suggested it can be mixed with pretty much anything. (shampoo, body wash lotions etc.) A long time ago I was doing random research about something (I forget what) but I ended up buying some DMSO Gel (Dimethyl sulfoxide) because I'm weird I guess and maybe thought I would find a way to try to make it work for psoriasis. Supposedly anything you mix with it will get carried through the skin really well or some shit... heres some better info if you wanna read:  http://www.dmso.org/articles/information/muir.htm
Fuck it, maybe this will work?

Well it's been pretty much sitting in my bathroom closet for 2 years and now I have all this powder with nothing to mix it in! BLING! haha ok so I figured I'd use it to mix with the powder and make a kinda lotion/gel thingy to spread on my arms.
Hoover M.D. tryin' new stuff haha!

I just poured a little bit... it's all an experiment at this moment... not exactly sure how much of what to use... but I'm sure this is how all the best inventions start out right?
So I mixed up these little bitches and there was thunder claps in the background and a hard rain started coming down... haha just kidding.
This is after the mixings, the Indigo was kinda hard to mix, it didn't take very well at first and was very gooey, also be careful, this stuff is what they supposedly used to dye blue-jeans with, so it stains pretty bad I hear...
The Neem mixed up pretty well, and was generally overall more salve-looking.

I'm kinda tired and I'm gonna go to bed, but my next post will have some actual pictures of what my psoriasis looks like and before and after pics of the first two days of applying this stuff!

Theres a lot of other things I plan to try later, only because I already paid for FuFangQingDaiWan and and the powders that i need to use up before I buy anything else.

oh alcohol you asshole

So whats this I hear about alcohol not effecting women with psoriasis? Wtf? Yeah, I got totally wasted at my buddy Isaac house over the weekend and now my p looks like death. He lives about two hours away and has this sweet pad with a pool and a keg-orator so I bought a keg and made the journey and filled my weekend with boozy back flips off the diving board and constant spliff smoking and probably like, a hundred other things that aren't good for P. Oh wait I take that back, I got an awesome amount of sunshine so that was nice, but I am fully convinced that alcohol does more damage than sunshine heals.oh snap gotta go
